In short
- No account, no sign-up.
- Your tasks, sessions and settings are stored on your device (and in your Android backup, if you use it).
- The app sends no data to me or to third parties: no analytics, ads or tracking.
Data stored on your device
Forma Focus keeps the following information in a local database on your phone so the app can work:
- Tasks: the title, an optional note, an optional session estimate, completion status and the order of your tasks.
- Focus sessions: start and end time, planned and actual focus time, whether the session was completed, and the task it belonged to (including a copy of the task title).
- Settings: timer durations, daily goal, sound, vibration, theme and similar preferences.
- Your name (optional): if you enter a first name for the greeting, it is stored with your settings. You can leave it empty.
What is not collected
This information never leaves your device through the app. Forma Focus does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it does not make network requests. There is no server that receives your data, and I have no access to it.
The app does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, files or photos.
Android permissions
The app asks for or declares these permissions, each for a single purpose:
- Notifications: to tell you when a focus session or break ends. You can refuse or turn this off at any time in Android settings.
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarms): so the end-of-session alert arrives on time, even when the app is closed.
- Run at startup: to restore a running timer after your phone restarts or the time zone changes.
- Vibration: for optional haptic feedback.
- Internet: required by the Android WebView the app is built on. The app itself does not use the internet; all content is bundled with the app.
Android backups
Forma Focus allows Android’s built-in backup. If you have device backup turned on, Android may include the app’s data in the backup it stores with your Google account, so it can be restored on a new phone. This is handled by Android and Google under your backup settings and Google’s privacy policy, not by me. You can turn device backup off in Android settings.
Your control over your data
- Delete individual tasks and sessions inside the app.
- Use Settings → Clear all data to remove everything at once.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.
Google Play
When the app is published, downloading it through Google Play means Google processes data about the installation under its own privacy policy. As the developer I may see aggregated, anonymous statistics from Google Play Console, such as the number of installs or crash counts reported by Android. These do not identify you.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Significant changes will be listed in the history below.
